STEP 1: PREPARING FOR THE INJECTION
- Hand Hygiene: Start by washing your hands thoroughly.

STEP 2: PREPARING & PRIMING THE SYRINGE
1. Prepare the syringe:
- Without removing the cap, hold the syringe in your dominant hand with your thumb on the plunger. The grey cap should be facing up.
- Push up gently on plunger approximately 3 times to push air to the top of the syringe.
2. Attach the needle:
- Twist off the smaller portion of the needle packaging (needle cap should still be attached).
- Twist off the grey cap from the syringe.
- Firmly twist the needle onto the syringe
3. Prime the syringe:
- Remove the needle cap to expose the needle.
- With thumb on plunger gently push up until all air is removed from the syringe and a tiny drop of medication appears at the tip of the needle.
STEP 3: INJECTING MEDICATION SUBCUTANEOUSLY
1. Hold the Syringe:
Hold the syringe like a dart or pencil.
2. Prepare the skin:
Pinch the prepped skin to create a firm surface and insert the needle quickly through the skin at a 90-degree angle.
